EXPERIENCE
Our experience with SMS services dates back to 1998 under the name of Be Free.In December 2006, Be Free bought CoolSMS which at that time was owned by Cool Systems. Cool Systems decided to focus on other activities. The original SMS activities of Be Free and CoolSMS were in late 2006 combined in a new company called CoolSMS A/S.

Some of the important highlights in the story of the company Be Free were the development of Denmark's first 4-digit application code, as well as the delivery of SMS systems to discos. CoolSMS was launched by Cool Systems ApS in 2001. The site was from the beginning aiming on private costumers and could quite fast call itself Denmark's largest SMS site, with more than 265,000 unique visitors on a daily basis.Cool Systems later decided to extend their solutions to the business world, both at the gateway level but also with simple SMS systems that would help ease communication in the corporate world.
Today CoolSMS handles a large part of the SMS messages in Denmark related to many different events. We have our own 4-digit number (1272) that enables us to send and receive SMS. We also have hook-ups to Norway, Sweden and Finland through a two-way communication.
Our systems are being used for many different purposes. To mention a few, CoolSMS is working as WebSMS for a Danish mobile operator (MVNO), as one-time coding in connection with remote access to workplaces and a system automatically sending reminders to, among others, clients of doctors and dentists and costumers of hairdressers and pharmacies , as well as in connection with marketing campaigns.
For several years, we have developed our system continuously, so we now have a reliable platform which is able to handle large volumes of messages.
In order to accommodate everyone's needs, we use several protocols to connect to our systems. SMTP could be called the easiest solution. HTTP is popular among developers. And finally SMPP, mainly aims at experienced people who want more advanced options.
CoolSMS handles more than 30 million SMS messages in Denmark and abroad every month.
