HLR LOOKUP
HLR Lookups allow you to check if a phone is activated on a network and to which network the phone belongs.HLR is on a large scale used in the telecommunications industry to find out how particular SMS's must be routed to arrive safely.
To a lesser extent, it is possible to use HLR Lookups to check the validity of the numbers in your customer database. By sorting out dead and invalid numbers, you can reduce SMS costs significantly.
From a technical point of view, the network is requested to send back information on the phone number.
The network will then provide the following information:
- If the number is valid
- To which network is the number assigned (MCC and MNC)
- Whether there is an error on the track
- Where the phone is roaming (MSC)
Access to the HLR Lookup is possible through our API.
